Bangkok--8 Nov--PC & Associates Consulting Asia’s First Cisco Express-Network on Wheels to Be Launched at Bangkok ICT Expo 2007 Regional and Local Partners to Jointly Deliver Connected Life Technologies Cisco today launched the Cisco Express-Network on Wheels (NoW), a mobile showcase of Cisco’s world-class networking technologies. Packed into the specially retrofitted 40-foot container are products, solutions and services from Cisco and its partners including regional sponsors CNA, EMC, Emerson Network Power, Linksys, Panduit and SingTel and country sponsors as follows; MFEC and Synnex (Thailand) (Platinum), Shin Satellite & NetOne (Gold) and Nevotex (Silver). . Starting from Singapore, the Cisco Express-NoW will travel to 30 cities in 6 countries including Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Taiwan. The Cisco Express-NoW is designed to extend Cisco’s reach in delivering its vision of the “Connected Life” by showcasing solutions that enable organizations, especially small- and medium-businesses (SMBs), to visualize how technology can be applied to help them build smarter businesses. This will not only energize their companies but also the economy as SMBs contribute 50 percent of Thailand’s GDP. The Cisco Express-NoW will tour Thailand for six weeks, from November 9 to December 21, 2007. It will be making stops in Bangkok, Had Yai, Phuket, Chonburi and Khon Kaen. In addition to Cisco employees and partners, the Cisco Express-NoW will be staffed by students from Cisco Networking Academy institutions in the cities where the Cisco Express-NoW will stop-over, providing them with practical learning experiences. The Networking Academies that will support the Cisco Express-NoW in Thailand include Bangkok and Chonburi:- King Mongkut Instute of Technology Ladkrabang, ABAC University, Kasetsart University, St. John University, Rangsit University, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. Hat Yai:- Hat Yai University, Phuket:- Prince Songkhla — Phuket and Khon Kaen:- Khon Kaen University. Equipped with satellite and mobile Internet connectivity and rapid deployable communications in the container, the Cisco Express-NoW can also be called on to provide essential communications services for first responders in the advent of a natural disaster in the vicinity. In addition, it can provide Internet-based learning experiences to local people in distant areas, just like the EECV (Emergency / Education Communications Vehicle) did last year. “The Cisco Express-NoW helps reach out to cities and people that would never have had the opportunity to touch and see Cisco’s technology in the metal. It will then visit major cities in the central, southern and north-eastern parts of the country.
