Bangkok--3 Jan--Grayling (Thailand) TMB Macquarie Securities (Thailand) Limited, a joint venture between TMB Bank of Thailand and Australia’s Macquarie Group, was proud to steer Frangipani Girl to second place honours in her class at the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta last Saturday. The Phuket King’s Cup Regatta is Asia’s biggest and most popular keelboat regatta. Inaugurated 20 years ago to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand, it has been held every year since in Phuket during the first week of December. “The event was great and is deservedly the highlight of the Asian yachting calendar,” said Johnson Tan, Managing Director — S.E. Asia and Head of Macquarie Capital Advisers, Thailand. “The weather was perfect, sailing conditions were excellent, and this was a great opportunity to showcase the beauty of Thailand to our key clients.” This year a record 103 boats, 15 of which were in Frangipani Girl’s Premier Cruising Class, took part in the regatta.
