Thai bourse urges investors to consider stock fundamentals

ข่าวหุ้น-การเงิน Thursday January 24, 2008 10:43 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--24 Jan--SET Stock price fluctuation in Thailand and regional markets is part of a global effect, originating in concerns about the U.S. sub-prime crisis and skepticism about the US government’s recent economic measures, The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Chairman Mr. Pakorn Malakul Na Ayudhya noted. “Although the SET index has fallen by 13% since end-2007, the Thai Exchange is more stable than many foreign markets. Sound economic fundamentals and the technical rebound seen in many markets, together with a clearer political situation after the general election in Thailand, will provide domestic and foreign investors with the confidence to invest here. Consequently, I would urge all market participants, particularly retail investors, to closely monitor current information and base their decisions on real data and each stock’s fundamentals,” Mr. Pakorn added.
