Nokia reports Q4 2007 net sales of EUR 15.7 billion (722 billion baht), up 34%, market share grows to an estimated 40%

Bangkok--25 Jan--Aziam Burson-Marsteller Nokia, the world leader in mobile communications, today announced its business achievements for the fourth quarter of 2007. Nokia Q4 2007 net sales is EUR 15.7 billion, up 34% year on year. Q4 2007 estimated device market share reached 40%, up from 39% in Q3 2007 and up from 36% in Q4 2006. "Nokia's excellent fourth quarter contributed to a year of high growth and increased profitability for the company, while our industry leading product portfolio drove our device business to an estimated 40% market share in the fourth quarter. At the same time we again increased our quarterly device margins, allowing Nokia to continue to invest for innovation and growth”, said Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, Nokia CEO. In Q4 2007, Nokia device volumes are 133.5 million units, up 20% sequentially and up 27% year on year while estimated industry device volumes are 336 million units, up 17% sequentially and up 16% year on year. In 2007, Nokia device volumes are 437 million units, up 26% from last year. Nokia’s converged device volumes in 2007 grew to 60.5 million units from 39.0 million units in 2006. Nokia sold approximately 200 million camera devices and approximately 146 million music enabled devices in 2007. Nokia shipped approximately 38 million Nokia Nseries devices and approximately 7 million Nokia Eseries devices during 2007 Nokia estimated device market share in Q4 2007 is 40%, up from 39% in Q3 2007 and up from 36% in Q4 2006. Total device gross and operating margins increased significantly sequentially and year on year. Several key devices started shipping in volume across the product range including: Nokia 1200/1208, Nokia 2630, Nokia 5310, Nokia 6500 and Nokia N95 8GB. Nokia continues to target an increase in its market share in mobile devices in 2008.
