Bangkok--5 Feb--Bangkok Bank Bangkok Bank has retained its status as Thailand’s Most Admired Bank in BrandAge magazine’s survey of Thailand’s Most Admired Brands in 2008. The bank was voted the most admired and trusted brand in all three bank categories surveyed: banking; credit cards; and debit cards. Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President Bordin Unakul said the bank was delighted to retain its status as the Most Admired Bank in the survey, which has been organized by BrandAge magazine for seven consecutive years. The results are based on responses from consumers nationwide. “The survey reflects the popularity of Bangkok Bank’s image and brand with customers and the general public. We recognize how important our brand is to our ongoing success and we want all of our customers and the public to associate Bangkok Bank with quality work, quality service and a warm and friendly environment. “The key for us is to understand our customers’ needs and make a difference for them. We believe this has helped us to maintain the bank’s status as the bank of first choice and ‘puan koo kit mit koo baan’ — a friend to you wherever you are,” said Mr. Bordin. Respondents in the survey for Thailand’s Most Admired Brands 2008 included a similar number of males and females. When categorized by age groups, the respondents aged under 20 years accounted for 12 percent, 20-29 years, 30 percent, 30-39 years, 26%, 40-49 years, 20 percent, and over 50 years, 12 percent. When classified by geographic location, about 23 percent of the respondents live in Bangkok and the central region, 16 percent in the east, 21 percent in the south, 22 percent in the northeast, and 18 percent in the north. Respondents were asked to judge the bank’s performance in a number of areas. For the category of ‘banking service’, Bangkok Bank was voted first overall, when judged against competitors in terms of: customer familiarity with the bank, stability, brand, reputation of the bank, prompt service, interest rates on offer, variety of automated services, polite and helpful staff, having an extensive branch network, being the bank that fits with customer preferences, and the use of a queuing system. For the category of ‘credit cards’, Bangkok Bank was voted first overall when judged against competitors in the areas of: customer familiarity with the bank, reputation of the credit cards, no entrance fee, being the card that fits with customer preferences, interest rates on outstanding loans, card issuer stability, fees, global acceptance for the card, availability of channels accepting repayments, variety of repayment methods, credit line on offer, number of merchants accepting the cards, and discounts on petrol. For the category of ‘debit cards’, Bangkok Bank was voted first overall when judged against competitors in the areas of: customer familiarity with the bank, reputation of the debit cards, card issuer stability, being the card that fits with customer preferences, free replacement cards, fees, merchant partners, card designs, and discounts available at merchants.
