Bangkok--8 Feb--TQPR Somboon Krobteeranon, Country Manager — Thailand, Visa International, recently met with media for the first time this year to share Visa’s latest product information, Visa payWave, the contactless card technology that will soon be launched in Thailand. Visa payWave is a form of contactless payment that removes the need to physically swipe or insert a smart card into a payment reader. By simply holding the Visa payWave card at a close range to the card reader, the card will be detected and the transaction made. No signature is required and there is no need to even hand the card to the cashier — consumers simply wave, pay and go. Visa payWave card uses a dynamic cryptogram to uniquely identify and secure every transaction using EMV card authentication standards (dynamic data authentication or DDA). Visa payWave is a secure, fast and simple way for consumers to make payment, especially at places that require speedy payment such as fast food restaurants, convenience stores cinemas and petrol stations.
