Bangkok--11 Feb--DTAC dtac today released the full year results for 2007 showing a record high customer growth of 3.9 million for the period. dtac’s total customer base now stands at 15.8 million. Total revenues for 2007 increased by 35% YoY to 65.6 billion baht, due to customer growth and the introduction of the interconnect regime in February 2007. Excluding interconnect, revenues grew by 6% YoY. EBITDA grew by 6%, while net profit came in at 5.8 billion baht, up 18% from the previous year. Chief Executive Officer Sigve Brekke said last year was a challenging year with the introduction of the interconnection, consistently high fuel price, difficult economic and political situation, and low consumer confidence. However, we managed to increase our subscriber base at a record high level. “With the new government in place, we look forward to the recovery of the economy, which will bring back investors’ and consumers’ confidence. And strong subscriber growth is expected to continue in 2008 as mobile services are made available to more Thai people.” dtac is the second largest mobile operator in Thailand. dtac is listed on Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX) and Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
