Bangkok--4 Mar--WEBER SHANDWICK General Motors Thailand and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, in a joint effort with Chevrolet Chanthaburi and Pico (Thailand) Plc., continue their support of Thai education by funding a library at Wat Ban Ang school in Chanthaburi province under the“Chevrolet Develops Thai Education” project. A ceremony was held recently to hand over the library which is fully equipped with a range of books, learning materials and edutainment publications, a computer with Internet connection and a television set complete with CD and DVD players.The library will help the school children and other members of the local community to improve their learning and broaden their knowledge, enabling them to participate better in the future development of their community. “GM and Chevrolet are proud to make this facility available to the children and members of the Wat Ban Ang community and we hope it will provide them with a useful source of knowledge by which to advance their education and stimulate self-development,” said Steve Carlisle, President of GM Southeast Asia Operations and Chevrolet Sales Thailand. “We are confident that these joint efforts between GM, Chevrolet, its dealers and Pico to strengthen social programs and support schools nationwide, will promote better skills and learning beyond the classroom for the Thai youth of today. We firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of social development and the establishment of a knowledge-based society is the key to a country’s future success,” he added. In a formal presentation, the “Chevrolet Develop Thai Education” Library was handed over to Wat Ban Ang School by Steve Carlisle, President of GM Southeast Asia Operations and Chevrolet Sales Thailand, Chartchai Suwanasevok, Member of the Board of Directors of General Motors Southeast Asia Operations, Chusak Kohskarika, Managing Director of Sukchai Motors Limited Partnership and Supaporn Sawangjitt, Executive Vice President of Pico (Thailand) Plc.
