Bangkok--16 Apr--SET The Market for Alternative Investment (mai), in conjunction with Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Board of Investment (BOI) and Siam Commercial Bank PCL (SCB), will host a seminar for entrepreneurs and the general public, Eco- car project: a golden opportunity for the Thai auto parts industry. The event will take place on April 21 at the Emerald Hotel. The Thai government’s economical and energy-saving car project will benefit the country by stimulating large-scale investment, especially in the auto parts industry. It will enable Thailand to further become a regional hub for the automobile industry - the future “Detroit of Asia”, SCB Executive Vice President, Head of Business Bank-Strategic Planning Division Veerathai Santiprabhob said. At Eco-car project: a golden opportunity for the Thai auto parts industry, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry Suwit Khunkitti will preside and deliver the keynote address on government policy encouraging the Thai automotive industry, mai President Chanitr Charnchainarong said. “The seminar will unveil business opportunities in automobile parts, which is an industry supported by the government’s Eco-car promotion scheme. In addition to policy direction, participants will be able to share ideas and information and learn more about mai’s efforts to enhance Thai businesses’ global competitiveness,” Mr. Chanitr said. At the event, BOI Secretary-General Sathit Chanchaokul will speak on BOI’s strategy and policy supporting Eco-car production and Mr. Chanitr will discuss Investment trends in Thailand.
