Bangkok--16 Apr--SET The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is proposing that the Office of Civil Service Commission (OCSC)’s executive training courses include capital market-related content to enhance policymakers’ understanding of the market. SET’s strategy of deepening the knowledge-base of policymakers about the importance and use of the Thai capital market as an economic driver is progressing well. The government has established the Capital Market Development Committee, whose membership is drawn from the public and private sectors, to put forward policy proposals and develop a practical Thai Capital Development Plan, SET Executive Vice President Nongram Wongwanich said. “Collaboration between the Exchange and OCSC will facilitate future cooperation and negotiations by increasing the sophistication of senior officials’ understanding of the capital market’s economic development role,” Ms. Nongram concluded.
