Bangkok--16 Apr--KASIKORNBANK On Friday 18th April 2008, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over a reception in honor of the Delegation of the Beijing 2008 Olympics Torch Relay at the Pier of KASIKORNBANK Headquarters. Major General Sanan Kajornprasart, Deputy Prime Minister, as Chairman of the 2008 Olympics Torch Relay Organizing Committee of Thailand, revealed that Thailand is one of twenty countries that will have an opportunity to welcome the Olympics Torch carried by torchbearers who will run through Thailand. With more than 200 countries participating in this Olympics, this is an important event and a first time opportunity for Thailand to host the torch relay. On this occasion, the committee will organize a reception hosted by KASIKORNBANK in honor of the Delegation of the Beijing 2008 Olympics Torch Relay on Friday 18th April at the Pier of KASIKORNBANK Headquarters, Ratburana Road. It is a great honor for KBank that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will preside over this event. Ms. Daranee Tanchaiswasd, First Senior Vice President of KASIKORNBANK, in her capacity as Chairperson of the ceremony and reception, gave an interview, saying that the 2008 Olympics Torch Relay Organizing Committee of Thailand, led by Major General Sanan Kajornprasart, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Committee, has arranged several meetings in preparation for this event. As for the reception in honor of the Delegation of the Beijing 2008 Olympics Torch Relay hosted by KBank, it will be a welcoming party for the Chinese and Thai 2008 Olympics Torch Relay Organizing Committees. The participants will consist of 80 Thai and Chinese athletes selected as part of the Delegation of the Beijing 2008 Olympics Torch Relay, including approximately 300 participants who are executives of state agencies such as the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), as well as representatives of the mass media. This is a party where all participants can get together before the official relay of the 2008 Olympics Torch on the next day. On this auspicious occasion, KBank will stage a show entitled, “Naga Wishes Success for the Flame of Peace” and a waterfall-styled fireworks display (Phlu-Fai-Sai-Thara) which represents our welcoming and blessings for the Summer Olympiads, and also for the prosperous and cordial relationships between Thailand and China.
