Bangkok--29 May--Krungthai Card Pittaya Vorapanyasakul (right), Executive Vice President for Membership Marketing, “KTC” or Krungthai Card Public Company Limited, and, Poonsook Musiklad (left), Executive Vice President, Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, jointly signed the agreement appointing KTC as a distributor for the “Thai Orchid” series of Taweesin savings lottery. The tickets feature nine variations of orchids as photographed by Professor Rapee Sakrik. Members can pay for the tickets using any KTC VISA or MasterCard credit card. Alternatively, members may use 5,000 KTC Forever Rewards points to redeem for one unit of lottery worth 500 Baht and will stand a chance to win prizes of 61 Million Baht every month, total 36 months from now until June 30th, 2008 at all branches of KTC Touch in Bangkok and adjacent provinces. Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives will use the entirety of 30,000 Million Baht proceeds from the sale of 60 million units of Taweesin savings lottery tickets for the financial support of farmers in their plantation of crops which can be used to produce renewable energy instead of rice production technology development. This initiative is consistent with the policy of the government to create jobs and ensure sustainability in rural areas.
