Bangkok--10 Jul--Maxima Consultants Boot improves its loyalty program “Boots Health Club” after finding that sales, particularly of healthcare products, increased by over 30 percent after a year of launching. The program provides members with numerous benefits and discounts. The new “Boots Health Club” program will join hands with leading hospitals, fitness centers and insurance companies in giving coupons worth more than Bt 40,000 to members. The program itself will be limited, only 50,000 members for this year will be accepted, to ensure its exclusivity. Boots also insist that its prices will remain the same, easing up tension among customers who are facing rising costs of living. “The response from our Boots Health Club card after a year of its launch has been very positive. Our sales went up by over 30 percent,” said Mr. Ian Hunter, Managing Director of Boots Retail (Thailand) Co., Ltd. “This year Boots Health Club will work together with our healthcare alliance partners, such as Bangkok Hospital Medical Center, Samitivej Hospital, BNH Hospital, Ayudhya Allianz C.P. Life Pcl. and Fitness First in providing card holders special health check-up programs as well as discounts of healthcare Boots products” said Hunter, adding that card holders will get 5 percent discount with any purchase of health-related Boots products. Those who are more than 60 years old will get 10 percent discount. “The membership card will be swiped every time a member makes a purchase. This information will be kept and analyzed for further marketing activities, particularly personalized ones,” said Hunter. “The healthcare product market is expected to expand greater in the future due to people’s stress and exposure to pollutions in their daily lives. Consumers thus have to take greater care of their health,” said Hunter. Recently Boots was named by the Ministry of Public Health as “quality drugstore”. The award reflects Boots’ prominent role as a service point for healthcare-related consultation from well-trained pharmacists, who are stationed in each of Boots store, more than 200 in total. The award also emphasizes Boots’ image “Trust Boots” — a specialist in health and beauty issues, ensuring customers that Boots can be trusted and relied on every time they make a purchase at the shop. Despite the economic slowdown and the rise of inflation rates, which prompt consumers to reduce their expenses, Boots insists that its marketing plan is not to increase product prices from the current level, but rather to create campaigns offering customers value-for-money products. For example, from now until July 24 Boots organizes the “Healthy Family Saving” program — providing several skincare product offers such as purchasing 3-pieces items for Bt 199. Customers who make a purchase at a certain value will also get free gifts. Boots hopes that these campaigns will persuade customers to buy products that suit their needs and maximize the value of their money. Health and medicines account for 40 percent of Boots’ entire sales, followed by skincare and cosmetics products at 38 percent. Personal care account for the remaining 22 percent. Boots expects that the growth in 2008 will be two digits, the same performance it had in 2007. It also plans to open 20 new stores by the middle of 2009. Currently Boots has 141 branches in Thailand, together with more than 1,000 staff members and 200 pharmacists who are more than willing to assist their customers. If going to the shop is not convenient, Boots also has a hotline service, where customers can get a free consultation, at 1-800-200-444 and 0-2233-0575 or e-mail to [email protected].
