ROLLS-ROYCE ESTABLISHES CLOSE TIES WITH THAILAND UNIVERSITY

Bangkok--28 Jul--Hill & Knowlton Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony with KMUTNB Rolls-Royce Thailand and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) announced today that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), outlining their intention to work together on a range of initiatives. Rolls-Royce Thailand has agreed to a sponsorship programme that supports the university’s Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. The MoU, which was announced at a joint signing ceremony, represents a significant milestone in the well-established relationship Rolls-Royce has with the Kingdom and is the first agreement the company has signed with a local university. Associate Prof. Dr. Viboon Chunkag, Dean of Engineering Faculty, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, comments “Working with Rolls-Royce on this initiative is a great opportunity for our university to forge close links with a leading industry player, and enables both students and staff gain an insight into how they operate. We very much look forward to embarking on this venture” Dr. Wiboon Lertwimolnun, Head of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, adds ”This cooperation would significantly provide our students and staff an opportunity to be exposed to Rolls-Royce renowned expertise. This would help us to produce more industrial oriented aerospace engineers into this region.” Mr. Dan Pedley, Managing Director of Rolls-Royce Thailand, comments “This is the first step in what we hope will be a long and beneficial relationship for both parties. We take our role as a leading company within Thailand seriously and want to support the development of our industry’s future generation.” Rolls-Royce will provide support for a number of initiatives in the areas of Gas Turbomachinery and Aerospace technologies.
