Tata Daewoo posts higher profits, turnover

Bangkok--29 Jul--DC Consultants and Marketing Communications Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co Ltd (TDCV), a fully-owned subsidiary of Tata Motors in Korea, posted an increased turnover and profits for fiscal year 2007-08, according to Tata Motors’s annual report. TDCV reported an increase in sales by 38% to 11,899 units for fiscal 2007-08 against 8,588 units sold in the previous year. The market share has risen from 24.3% to 32.3% in the heavy commercial vehicle segment, and from 28.2% to 34.8% cent in the medium commercial vehicle segment. The company earned a net profit after taxes of US$ 40.76 million from a turnover of US$ 762.54 million this fiscal year, against US$ 22.28 million from a US$ 514.05 million turnover in the previous year. With an export volume of 3,000 units, up from 2,715 units in the previous year, TDCV remains Korea’s largest exporter of heavy commercial vehicles.
