Bangkok--16 Sep--Weber Shandwick In commemoration of the milestone 100th Anniversary of General Motors Corporation, which falls on 16 September 2008, General Motors Thailand recently organized the Thailand Environment and Energy Automotive Technology Symposium (GM Auto Tech) recently, in order to demonstrate to all Thais the corporation’s leading role in advanced alternative fuel technology. During the symposium’s ‘Breakout’ sessions, which featured Hybrid, Two-mode Hybrid, Hydrogen- and Ethanol-powered vehicles, GM invited the press to test drive the four alternative fuel vehicles specially imported for the event from the U.S.A: Chevrolet Equinox Hydrogen Fuel Cell, Chevrolet Impala, Saturn Vue Green Line Hybrid, and Chevrolet Tahoe Two-mode Hybrid. GM Auto Tech also featured alternative energy seminars that were attended by more than 1,000 guests including government officials, industry experts, regional media professionals and members of the public. The GM Auto Tech Symposium showed GM’s leadership, vision and strong support of alternative fuel initiatives to reduce dependency on oil, strengthen the energy security of the country and, most importantly, reduce harmful vehicle emissions that are damaging the earth.
