FORD Caring for Marine and Coastal Development

Bangkok--22 Sep--Maxima Consultants Making the world a better place….Ford is dedicated to using its volunteer muscle to do some of the heavy lifting needed for a better life and a better world. Recently Ford Sales & Service (Thailand) led by Mr.Adisak Wangphongsawasd, Vice President Sales & Dealer Development and a group of Ford employee, volunteers and its Rayong dealers packed up their great hearts ventured out into the local community to build the ‘Ford Camp House at Munnai Island’ in Rayong province. The Ford camp house was the first residential building to accommodate the youths and all interests who participated in studying the coastal environment. This extraordinary effort was a part of Ford’s continuing commitment to give back and make a positive difference in people’s lives during the ‘Ford Global Week of Caring’, a worldwide effort by Ford. Besides building the new house, the community services also included the renovation and installation on signage, renovation turtle pond, feeding the hungry sea turtle and improving some landscape. Mr.Mickmin Charuchinda, Director of Eastern Marine and Coastal Development Center for Department of Marine and Coastal Resources said ‘the best way to protect the environment conserve resources is to experience the real natural resources or simply learning from the real world. Sea animals are our valuable resources. For example, our marine turtle that have lived in the ocean for over 100 million years is known as world ambassador who can travel anywhere in the world without any passport. As, Munnai Island is packed with valuable natural resources, therefore, the island is set to be our first coastal environmental education center in Thailand. Presently over 70% of the learning center has been completed in order to promote understanding and raise public awareness of threats and degradation of marine and coastal resources. We hope the learning center will inspire public participation in resource rehabilitation and conservation.’ Mr.Adisak Wangphongsawasd, Vice President Sales & Dealer Development of Ford Sales & Service (Thailand) mentioned ‘Ford has a long tradition of caring and contributing to make the world a better place. As the Munnai Island has become the nation’s marine and coastal resources, this year Ford expanded volunteer efforts to help the first coastal environmental education center. Our volunteers helped to build a Ford Camp House that will enhance its coastal education initiatives.
