Tata Motors (Thailand) recently held the annual meeting of its 33 Thai dealerships to discuss the business plans going forward. The company expressed confidence in the country’s automobile industry, thanks to the strong foundation on which it is built.
“The automobile industry is highly competitive, and timely response to the changing business environment is very important,” said Ajit Venkataraman, Chief Executive Officer of Tata Motors (Thailand) Co Ltd.
“Many factors are likely to affect the global economy as well as the Thai economy over the next one year . So, our dealer meeting was aimed at strengthening the confidence and readiness to handle the coming situations. We firmly believe in Thailand’s economic foundation and potential. The government’s long-term policy is favourable for the automobile industry’s growth.”
Tata plans to increase its nationwide dealerships to 45 by the end of this financial year. Thirty-three out of more than 100 applicants have already been appointed as the company’s dealers in major cities of each region, including Chiang Mai, Hadyai and Khon Kaen.
“Tata is very selective about appointing each dealer. The dealership is critical in building a successful automotive business; they are the channel through which our customers receive a positive product experience,” said Mr Venkataraman.
“The distinctive point of our dealers is that they are experienced in the local businesses and play a significant role in their provincial society. The diverse business perspective of our dealers differentiates Tata from the competition who have been in the business here long before us.
“We are very pleased to join forces with the Thai business people who are willing to grow along with us. Our objective to have 45 dealers this year is achievable, and we will focus on the quality of the dealers, good service availability and preparedness in all aspects, which are essential to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.”
