A great new website has just been launched for people who want to learn more about preventing cervical cancer, the leading cause of cancer death amongst Thai women. The website, www.idoeverythingican.org is being launched to promote the global “Everything I Can” cervical cancer awareness campaign, encouraging women around the world to talk to their doctors about how they can protect themselves from cervical cancer.
A coalition of public and private organizations is leading the campaign in Asia Pacific which includes Thailand’s National Cancer Institute (NCI), NSW Cervical Cancer Screening Program - Australia, the National Cancer Society of Malaysia, the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists of the Philippines (SGOP) and the Taiwan Counter Contagious Diseases Society as well as NGOs and private companies in participating countries. The website includes video interviews with leading cancer experts including Dr Thiravud Khuhaprema, Director of the NCI which provide insights about cervical cancer and the Everything I Can campaign from a Thailand perspective.
More interestingly, the website also includes an online forum and provides practical advice to help Moms and Dads give the best possible guidance to their daughters about cervical cancer prevention. It also allows visitors to make an online pledge to do everything they can to prevent cervical cancer. The website provides a link to a similar, Thai version of the website which can also be accessed directly at www.everything-ican-th.com.
