The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET)’s SET in the City 2008 offers the public complete capital market and investment information by providing almost 100 booths, over 100 seminars and more than 100 leading securities analysts and investment experts. Finance Minister Suchart Thadathamrongvej opened the event, which runs over November 20-23 at Siam Paragon mall, Bangkok.
“SET in the City 2008 demonstrates the strong commitment of capital market organizations to driving Thailand’s economic progress and boosting investors’ confidence. It contributes to the development of the Thai capital market by providing investment information relevant to the current economic situation,” Minister Suchart said.
“This investment fair is a practical demonstration of SET’s commitment to investor and public financial education. Education grows people’s wealth and enables judicious investment planning. Present economic circumstances make this an opportune time for the event,” SET Chairman Pakorn Malakul Na Ayudhya said.
SET in the City 2008 promotes government and private sector products and services, and offers a wide range of seminars and other investment education activities, such as an investment simulation, tax planning assistance and Thailand Securities Institute’s personal finance planning assistance. Notably, on November 20 during 15.00-19.30 hours, Securities Analysts Association is staging Analysts Fair — November 2008, where experts will deliver three special seminars.
The Exchange will also hold three major award ceremonies - SET Awards 2008, Shareholder Awards 2008 and the Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies.
