Bangkok Bank will showcase the success of its Modern Agriculture project customers by holding a fair at its head-office on Silom Road on Friday, 28 November, 2008.
The Modern Agriculture project helps agricultural entrepreneurs develop efficiencies and international competitiveness through the use of modern technology and innovation. Any interested person can visit the free Modern Agriculture fair.
“Bangkok Bank is proud to have supported the Modern Agriculture program over the past seven years. Bangkok Bank has issued loans of Baht 15 billion to 3,600 customers under the project,” said Bangkok Bank Executive Vice President, Head of Provincial Commercial Banking Piya Sosothikul.
“The fair will showcase those Modern Agriculture customers who have used their knowledge, capital and expertise to develop their goods to the benefit of their businesses and the environment. Visitors can also join in a discussion about modern agriculture, exchange opinions and seek ideas for further business co-operation,” Mr. Piya continued.
The program not only emphasizes the importance of improving the quality, quantity and variety of agricultural products, but also runs parallel to a commitment to environmental sustainability.
Previous projects have included bio-treatment systems in swine farms, plants grown indoors, replacing chemical with biological substances, and the use of water-saving systems.
“Bangkok Bank’s continued sponsorship ensures agricultural entrepreneurs are supported with the right financial, technical and managerial advice to reduce costs, increase product quality and enter higher market segments,” Mr. Piya continued.
