Bayer Schering Pharma recently organised a press conference to reveal the latest Asia Pacific Men’s Health Awareness Survey conducted by Millward Brown with the support of Bayer Schering Pharma Asia Pacific to provide holistic health care solutions for men above 45. The survey covered1,000 men above 45 years of age in five countries — Australia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
Its findings show Thai men consider a ‘good night sleep’ the best way improve overall health. 67 per cent of Thai men give importance to illness prevention, while 47 per cent of men in other countries give priority to this benefit.
When asked about the Testosterone-Deficiency-Syndrome (TDS) symptoms including loss of sexual desire and function, fatigue, increased body fats, reduced muscle mass and strength and/or depression, 1 in 2 (52 per cent) of the respondents claimed to be suffering from one or more symptoms, while only 17 per cent of them say they are taking supplements or medications as a therapy. The majority of the men surveyed (79 per cent) have either not heard about TDS before or are not sure what it is.
