Bangkok--9 Dec--DTAC
dtac introduces “SMS SIM” to help customers tighten their belt in the time of economic recession. Customers can send their best wishes in the holiday season in an economical way and join the “SMS Make A Wish Contest” to win impressive New Year gifts
dtac introduces “SMS SIM” to target the postpaid customers who mainly use short messaging services (SMS). With a monthly charge of 149 baht, subscribers can send 300 short messages a month. Additional messages sent are charged only 75 satang. Calls to all networks are charged 1.50 baht per minute. A multimedia messaging service (MMS) charges only 5 baht per request and the EDGE/GPRS service costs 1 baht per minute.
Mr. Chaiyod Chirabowornkul, Head of Postpaid Business Division of Total Access Communication Public Company Limited (dtac), says that the company successfully launched “Internet SIM” as “the second SIM” in September to expand its base of postpaid customers who want SIM cards especially for EDGE/GPRS services. To continue with customer base expansion, we see an opportunity with SMS as the service witnesses a growing number of users, expanding from teenagers to the general public. In the time of economic recession, SMS should be a way to help customers cut their phone bills. Therefore, dtac’s Postpaid Business Division introduces “SMS SIM” for the group of customers who usually send short messages instead of making phone calls. “SMS SIM” will be another channel to expand the postpaid customer base late this year. SMS SIM cards are available from December 1 onwards.
“We have found that some customers prefer SMS to phone calls for their demands are different. For example, they love to communicate with short messages which are clearer in terms of meanings and feelings expressed. dtac believes that SMS SIM will be popular for its low service charge. Customers should use it happily for cost-saving,” Mr. Chaiyod says.
For the upcoming holiday season, dtac launches the “SMS Make A Wish Contest”. It invites all dtac customers to send short messages under the topic of "What you wish to do if you get 100,000 baht" Customers can send such messages to number 7425 and vie for a chance to make their wish come true or win a number of special prizes worth altogether over 140,000 baht. For details, please go to www.dtac.co.th. The special program gets underway between December 4 and 25, 2008.
