Five local medium-sized companies have been awarded at the second annual “Bai Pho Business Awards by Sasin” for demonstrating strong potential and reliable standards, namely Taokaenoi Food and Marketing Co., Ltd., Interlink Communication PCL, Ubis ( Asia) PCL, Botanique Co., Ltd., and Bertram Chemical (1982) Co., Ltd. The award presentation ceremony was held at the SCB Talad Noi Branch and presided over by Siam Commercial Bank Chairman of the Board of Director, Mr. Anand Panyarachun.
Dr. Veerathai Santiprabhob, Executive Vice President, Siam Commercial Bank noted that the Bai Pho Business Award by Sasin is a collaboration between Siam Commercial Bank and the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University, established to recognize successful Thai companies demonstrating distinction amongst peers. The award aims to inspire local business operators to be more active in continuously enhancing their capabilities, and to become role models for other local small and medium enterprises in setting good standards and boosting sustainable economic growth. This is the second time in a row that the awards have been presented, following the success of the first time.
Kittiratt Na Ranong, Sasin Academic Affairs Deputy Director, explained that award winners must pass primary evaluation criteria and demonstrate distinctive qualifications critical to competitiveness, including customer focus, innovation, quality, adaptability to change, value creation, branding, efficiency, leadership & team building, social responsibility, and entrepreneurship.
In selecting award winners, the Evaluation Committee Panel will judge qualified award recipients from candidates, and the number of winners can vary year by year. Non-SCB customers are also eligible to enter the award program. Winners, whose names will be publicized in business circles, will receive certificates together with honorary plaques honoring their outstanding performance.
Dr. Ajva Taolananda, Honorary Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Evaluation Committee Panel, disclosed that the committee selected five companies to receive the awards this year, out of more than 120 applicants or nominated candidates, namely:
l Taokaenoi Food and Marketing Co., Ltd.: A leader in the fried seaweed food business, with the largest market share (80%) in Thailand. The Company is distinguished for its entrepreneurial power and branding.
l Botanique Co., Ltd.: An outstanding manufacturer of aroma and fragrance products with outstanding features, for its value creation and innovation.
l Bertram Chemical (1982) Co., Ltd.: A manufacturer and distributor of balm under the brand of "Siang Pure Oil" receiving an award for its branding and innovation.
l Ubis ( Asia) PCL: An integrated manufacturer and distributor of sealing compounds and can coating /lacquers for canning and beverage awarded for its distinction in terms of high quality products and innovation.
l Interlink Communication PCL: A pioneer in communications cabling who first adopted the use of LAN in Thailand. With the largest market share in the cabling business, the Company was awarded for its distinction in terms of value creation and customer focus.
Companies receiving the “Bai Pho Business Awards by Sasin” have clearly demonstrated strong determination in driving business growth under capable team management, innovation, value creation, and customer focus —important factors in driving the Thai economy.
