Bangkok Bank President Chartsiri Sophonpanich, Visa Thailand Country Manager Somboon Krobteeranon and Advanced Info Service’s Chief Executive Officer Vikrom Sriprataks are working together to conduct Thailand’s first Mobile Contactless Payment trial. When launched, Bangkok Bank customers will be able to walk into a store, purchase items such as a cup of coffee, movie ticket or a meal by simply waving their mobile phone over a contactless reader, with the transaction complete within just 4-6 seconds. Whilst not yet available in branches, customers should keep an eye out for Bangkok Bank’s Mobile Contactless Payment technology.
