Talk: "a film(maker + curator)" by Tomonari Nishikawa, a Japanese filmaker, curator and researcher On Thursday 19 February, 1.30-3pm, at Meeting Room No 7, 3rd Floor, Center of Academic Resources (Central Library - same building as The Art Center) (The Talk is in English with Thai translation.)
In this lecture, Nishikawa is going to talk about his practice in filmmaking, including installation works (i), his practice in film programming (ii), and his research about experimental cinema in Thailand (iii).
The Japanese researcher told us, "I started filmaking in 2001, completed more than 10 short films and several installation works. Throughout the works, I express my interest in cinema apparatus and human visual perception. In my on-going project, Sketch Films, entirely created by a single-framing technique, shows how a film projector produces the apparent motion."
