The club promotes the philosophy that if patients can enjoy life and maintain a positive spirit then cancer can be beaten. A consultation for newly diagnosed cancer patient and patients who are already going through the process of radiotherapy or chemotherapy is available. The session is considered very important to help with the depression and/or anxieties of new patients. Wattanosoth Hospital’s Together we will beat cancer considers four holistic aspects to tackling cancer: Expertise to beat : A multidisciplinary team of medics and specialists work to protect, diagnose, and provide treatment and care. The team holds doctor consulations with the patients and relations in order to reach the most appropriate treatment plan. Spirits to beat : Building the “positive thinking” attitude is regarded as an important factor to stimulate and build a strong body and mind. Hence, Wattanosoth Hospital has organized the “Think Positive Club” that supports spirit and mind of both patients and relations. Move to beat : Rehabilitation and the reconstruction of strong health is important for coping with life threatening diseases. The Wattanosoth Hospital rehab center is equipped with rehab machines and exercise equipments. Appropriate recommendations are made by doctors, physiotherapists as well as the exercise specialists who can provide prompt onsite advice. Eat to beat : Nutritional planning is another important issue in treating and rehabilitating patients. Wattanosoth Hospital organizes medical, pharmacist and nursing teams to provide information and recommendations to patients. Tailor made nutritional programs are devised to suit the patient and their lifestyle. The team also has a service of continuously monitoring and evaluating the response of the patients. Fighting cancer requires not only the right treatment but the right “emotional” and “soul” energy of patients. These are the beginnings of success in fighting cancer.
