Bangkok--26 Feb--DC Consultants and Marketing Communications The BabyLove brand is strengthening its presence in the baby diaper market with the third consecutive year of its trademark baby championship event. Following the success of ‘Crawlympic’ 2008, BabyLove? will launch the BabyLove? ‘Enjoy Rally’ race in 2009. The national championship will be held next month in Chiangmai, Khonkhaen, Hadyai, with the final round in Bangkok in April. The competitions are part of BabyLove’s ‘brand activation’ strategy to maintain old customers while also reaching new customer groups. The aim of the “BabyLove Enjoy Rally” is to promote baby’s development and strong bonding with their mothers/fathers through enjoyment of games and activities together. It will also reinforce the brand’s belief in facilitating baby’s freedom to develop mentally and physically by providing quality and convenience for both mothers and babies to enjoy activities together no matter the time or place. “This year’s rally has been designed to suit the development of children in different age ranges,” said Justine Wang, DSG International (Thailand)’s regional marketing manager. “Despite the present economic conditions, there is no gloom in the child diaper market for 2009. Diapers are a necessity for little children, and their parents will always look for what’s best for them. We have to be active in developing new products of good quality that are right for the babies’ needs at reasonable prices -- as well as holding activities to reach a wider consumer base. “We are hoping to increase our market share from 15 per cent to over 20 per cent this year, in a market worth a total of more than 5 billion baht per year, which is projected to grow by at least 5 per cent from 2008” she said. This year’s BabyLove Enjoy Rally is divided into the Junior crawling-toddling competition and the Senior free-running competition. In each race there are three bases with different tasks inviting children to show their playing, dancing and artistic skills, and also requiring mother and child collaboration. “The age from six months to 2.5 years is crucial in children’s mental and emotional development,” said Dr Jitra Wongboonsin, a pediatrician at Bangpakok 1 Hospital. “Research found that more than 90 per cent of children with good IQ and EQ development begin to speak and read before other children. They are enthusiastic and good-tempered, with positive learning capacity and verbal development. They also have good memory, emotional maturity and creative mind.” “Appropriate child-rearing at this stage will help brain development and mental quality. If parents allow their children to have freedom to learn and spend quality time together, they’ll be assisting their growth, development and family bonding. Children’s potential to develop depends not only on their innate qualities, but also on the support and care from the family and people around them.” Applications for the contest will be accepted from February onwards at BabyLove Enjoy Rally promotional booths nationwide, or call 0-2274-0701. Regional competitions will take place at ? Central Plaza Chiang Mai Airport from March 14 to 15; ? Tukcom Building in Muang district of Khon Kaen from March 21 to 22; ? Diana Complex department store in Had Yai, Songkhla from March 28 to 29; ? Future Park Rangsit, Bangkok, from April 17 to 18. The national championship competition will be held in Bangkok in April 19. Activities at each event will include children talent show and discussions with specialists and celebrity parents about child development and other interesting topics.
