- Bank’s senior management team now complete
TMB Bank Public Company Limited (TMB) announced today two senior management appointments that will take effect in the next two weeks pending regulatory approval.
Mr. Thanomsak Chotikaprakai, 46, joins TMB as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on 23 March from Standard Chartered Bank (Thailand), where he has held the same position since November 2003. Khun Thanomsak will report directly to CEO Khun Boontuck Wungcharoen and be responsible for financial performance management, balance sheet and capital management, financial control and financial risk management as well as regulatory, statutory and financial reporting.
Current Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr. Don Koch, 47, will be succeeded by another ING senior banker Mr. Simon Andrews, 44. Mr Andrews joins TMB on 1 April from ING Direct UK, where he was Chief Risk Officer. An Australian, he will bring almost 23 years of banking experience to TMB where he will be responsible for Operations and IT, Corporate Services and Business Continuity Management, reporting directly to the CEO. Mr. Koch will take up another senior appointment within the ING Group.
Khun Boontuck said: “Don has been a valuable hands-on member of our management committee and we thank him for laying the foundation to re-engineer our operational processes for greater productivity and efficiency. We wish him well on his next assignment.
Welcoming the new executives on board, he noted: “Both Khun Thanomsak and Simon will bring a wealth of banking expertise and broad operational experience to TMB. Our senior management team will now be complete and I am confident the team is fully ready to build on the transformation and growth momentum at the bank.”
Khun Thanomsak has been with Standard Chartered since 1996 and was the consumer banking head of business finance and business intelligence before his CFO appointment. Prior to that, he was with the Finance and Planning department of American Express (Thailand) from 1991 to 1996. He holds an MBA from Eastern Michigan University, Michigan, USA, and an Electrical Engineering degree from Chulalongkorn University.
Mr. Andrews has held various senior management positions at ING Direct UK and ING Direct Australia overseeing areas such as operations, IT, sales and technical services. He started his banking career in 1986 as a money market dealer at NatWest Australia Bank. He holds a Masters of Business (Banking and Finance) from Sydney’s University of Technology.
