Introducing Master Degree Program of Logistics and Supply Chain Management to Address Industry Demand, Industry Experts Join as Teaching Staff for Excellence
Sripatum University (SPU) and the Land Transport Federation of Thailand (LTFT) together announced today a plan to produce qualified workforce in logistics and supply chain that addressing requirements from industries and preparation for the economy when is back to the growth path. With this cooperation, SPU has launched Master Degree program, targeting at professionals who want to enhance their career path and knowledge in the filed. Both SPU and LTFT will leverage their unique strengths in order to differentiate this study program.
Dr. Kamol Chaiyawat, Dean of Business Administration Faculty, Sripatum University, said, “Sripatum University, a leading academic institution for next-generation students, has launched Master’s Degree Program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management through collaboration with the Land Transport Federation of Thailand. This program focuses on actual case studies integrated into the curriculum process. It will enable students to recognize and understand challenges and problems in logistics and supply chain industry. Our university has appropriate resources, both in terms of full-time teachers and experienced professionals in logistics and supply chain industry who will provide consulting and updated industry knowledge”

According to logistics workforce development plan 2008-2011 prepared by the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board, demand for logistics personnel in manufacturing industry increases by 159,100 people, over 97% of which represents demand increase in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Meanwhile, logistic service providers require additional 5,000 professionals approximately, mostly in SMEs like manufacturing industry. This is because today there are more than 2.27 million SMEs and decision makers are those who manage or own business, they need to apply knowledge, theories or new concepts in conducting business or making a business decision.
As an advantage of this master’s degree program in logistics and supply chain, the Supply Chain Institute of Sripatum University will provide updated information on logistics and supply chain industry, along with advanced knowledge base and specialized resources.
The Master Degree Program of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Faculty of Business Administration, Sripatum University, is a one-year program, comprising coursework and workshops delivered by highly-qualified teaching staff and logistics industry experts.
