Ratchaburi Holding Signs MOU for Coal-Fired Power Plant in Indonesia

กรุงเทพฯ--19 มี.ค.--Ratchaburi Electricity Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL. (“RATCH”) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PT Truba Alam Manunggal Engineering Tbk. (“TRUBA”) to conduct a due diligence and evaluation process on coal-fired power plant project in Kuala Tanjung, Indonesia (“Project”). The Project has the total installed capacity of 270 MW with the project cost of 274.3 million USD which RATCH holds 40 percent and TRUBA holds 60 percent in stake. The commercial operation date (COD) is expected to be in 2010 under the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to the PT.PLN (Persero). Mr. Noppol Milinthanggoon, Managing Director of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding PCL., revealed that on March 18, 2009, RATCH together with TRUBA signed an MOU to commence the process of evaluation on developing the Kuala Tanjung Power Plant Project towards the potential investment and acquisition in the Project. Accordingly, RATCH will forthwith commence the due diligence process and all necessary evaluation of all existing documents and evidence of the project towards the potential investment and acquisition into the project. The areas of study will include the assessment on all basic technical and project feasibility, environmental impact assessment, financial and commercial information, and legal documents and regulations. The due diligence will be conducted with thorough consideration based on mutual interest of return on investment and risk assessment. “The 270 - MW Kuala Tanjung Power Plant is the coal fired power plant project located at the coal mine in Kuala Tan Jung, North Sumatra, Indonesia. It is RATCH’s first step for developing the power projects and other related businesses in Indonesia,” Mr. Noppol added.
