Going green with “Blue Lion” environmental signature
Peugeot Thailand will be introducing a broad range of automotive innovations from city car to medium and larger passenger cars at Bangkok Motor Show 2009, which will be held from March 26 to April 6 at BITEC Bang-na.
Featured models for the event is Peugeot 407 Facelift, an updated version of Peugeot 406 which has been recently unveiled in Paris Motor Show, along with three other models including Peugeot 206 with 206 RC LINE accessories, Peugeot 207CC with 207CC RC LINE accessories and Peugeot Expert.
The refreshed Peugeot 407 runs 2,000CC, four-cylinder, 16-valve engine. It comes with sleek design as well as greater performance. The interior also looks brilliant with genuine leather upholsteries. The dynamic sedan is also equipped with built-in satellite navigator for more driving excellence — likely making it to be as popular as Peugeot 406 used to be.
Peugeot 206 city car runs 1400CC, four-cylinder engine with suspension system on all of its four wheels. While the exterior is marked by sports car style in combination with European contemporary design, the interior gives distinctive look and facilities for superior driving comfort, making it one of the world’s most favorite and successful city cars for many consecutive years. Besides, drivers can maximize their 206 city cruisers by using the world-famous “RC LINE By Imsher” accessories set. It is an ideal choice for those looking for a handy city car compatible with all European standards but the price is made as affordable as typical Japanese brands.
With a perfect combination of classic and sport style, Peugeot 207 CC cabriolet car is very successful in Thailand and international markets, and it will also be on display at Motor Show 2009. The vehicle runs 1600CC, 16-valve engine. Its 17” wheels provide an excellent level of road holding and driving safety with optimized speed up to 200 kilometres per hour. The outside is stylish and equipped with smart automatic cabriolet control system, the first in the coup? cabriolet sector. The RC Line accessories also make the model an exceptional spot vehicle.
Award-winning 11-seat Peugeot Expert, which has just available in Thailand this year after gaining phenomenal success worldwide, features 2000CC, four-cylinder diesel engine offering 120bhp, 6 manual gearboxes. The car is noted for energy efficiency, and the genuine leather seats are equipped with ventilators for greater comfort. Passengers also benefit from the ROM shock absorber and DSC balance control. Apart from superior design and high automotive performance in compliance with EU mandatory regulations, Peugeot will highlight its “Blue Lion” environmental signature, which is now available in all new on display at the Motor Show .
Peugeot's "Blue Lion" models follow a certain set of rules: First of all, CO2 emissions must be below 130 g/km when running on fossil fuels, although under 158 g/km if they run on diesel (all its models are B30 compatible) or 200 g/km when running on E85.
The "Blue Lion" cars must be manufactured in factories which are certified ISO 14001. This certification states that a certain company works respectfully with the environment. Moreover, and beating the mandatory EU Directive 2005/64/EC deadline by one year, the cars must be mostly reusable and/or recyclable.
According to Mr. Ponkrit Leenutaphong, President of European Motor Cars Company Limited, this year’s campaign dubbed “Peugeot Fashionate Your Life” comes with an array of worth viewing and participating activities at the Peugeot booth, at which visitors feel like they are walking on a catwalk surrounded by a large crowd of audience.
