Carrefour, the premium hypermarket introduces ‘Shop for the Nation’ campaign from now until April 12, 2009 by offering Baht 2,220 in coupon for the Baht 2,000-government cheque. With 11% value-added benefits for high value of shopping, the new campaign aims to reach over 1.5 million shoppers.
Ms.Prapaphan Ploysangngam, Carrefour’s marketing director said ‘the company is ready to work with government to boost higher consumption. The new campaign is designed for both Baht 2,000-cheque recipients and non-recipients. Over Baht 70 million has been spent for discount coupons to spur domestic demand. People can bring their Baht 2,000- cheque to any Carrefour branch and redeem it for vouchers worth Baht 2,220. Each pack contains 2 cash coupons of Baht 500 each, 5 cash coupons of Baht 200 each. These coupons are good until the December 31, 2009. In addition, a discount coupon of Baht 220 which expired until May 3rd, 2009 is also offered in the pack. In the meantime, selected branch of Carrefour is the venue to hand out government cheque under the Social Security Fund including Oonuj, Rama IV, Had Yai, Nakornsithammaraj and Phuket.
For non-cheque, the campaign offers discount coupons with valued of Baht 60, 110 and 220 for those spending via Carrefour I Wish card up to Baht 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 respectively. The discount coupons will be valid until May 3rd, 2009 with minimum purchasing of over Baht 300 per receipt.’
Carrefour also offers fixed prices on 29 living necessity items with around 30% savings lower than the market such as palm oil for Baht 29, sugar for Baht 19. Besides the promotional campaign, lower-income earners will be convenience to cash or process the cheques at Bangkok Bank micro branches located almost every branch of Carrefour locations.
