Pepsi is taking the next step to magnify the campaign’s success by introducing the “Pepsi Songkran, I Can Fizz” campaign, featuring Thailand’s first mobile fountain. This latest sizzling activity will feature hip-hop trio Buddha Bless sharing in the splashing fun experience, along with a “Drink Pepsi, Save the Earth” promotion to help boost sales this summer by offering a Pepsi Cool Bag. Mr. Parinya Permpanich, Marketing & Sales Operations Director for Serm Suk plc, said: “The ‘Pepsi I Can’ campaign has enjoyed great consumer feedback since it was launched, driving an increase in soft drink sales during the first quarter of 2009. Pepsi once again proved its strong leadership by winning the No. 1 Growth Ranking in Scale Markets award from 7-Eleven, the distribution channel that has the greatest number of locations covering all of Thailand. Pepsi generated 20% growth in sales at the country’s nearly 4,000 7-Eleven stores. Among Pepsi worldwide, Pepsi Thailand recorded the highest growth generated through the 7-Eleven sales channel. “The ‘Pepsi Green’ innovation is even more popular than Pepsi Blue and Pepsi Gold. Comparing sales for two months following launch, Pepsi Green has achieved 32% higher sales than Pepsi Gold did. “Even given the economic situation, we have seen increasing consumer activity in parallel with the arrival of summer, which is the peak sales season for the soft drink market. The launch of the “Pepsi Songkran, I Can Fizz” campaign will help highlight Pepsi as the brand of choice among ‘I Can Generation’,” continued Mr. Parinya. According to Mr. Eric Kitjatanapan, Pepsi-Cola (Thai)’s General Manager - Beverage, Pepsi will fill consumers with excitement and refreshment during the festive Songkran holiday with the “Pepsi Songkran, I Can Fizz” campaign. It features three dimensions of “Pepsi I Can Happiness.” The first dimension is the ultimate taste of Pepsi as the best refreshment to deal with summer thirst. The second is the “Pepsi Songkran, I Can Fizz” caravan, Thailand’s first-ever mobile fountain that will bring a cool, water-splashing experience to consumers in Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Samutprakarn and Pattaya. On 13 April, a special caravan led by Buddha Bless will also give away stylish, waterproof Pepsi Songkran phone bags. The third dimension is the Pepsi Cool Bag redemption, in which green-minded consumers can get an exclusive cotton bag designed by M.L. Jirathorn Jiraprawat by redeeming any combination of four caps from Pepsi, Pepsi Green, Pepsi Max, Pepsi Twist, Mirinda or 7Up, plus 39 baht, at any Pepsi sales truck starting from today until 10 July 2009. The “Pepsi Songkran, I Can Fizz” caravan will hit Bangkok streets on 12-13 April, followed by Ayutthaya on 14 April, Samutprakarn on 17 April and Pattaya on 18 April.
