24th April 2009 Performance and Talk by Musicians about Musical Instruments
2:00-5:00 pm. The Jim Thompson Art Center invites you to join a program led by local musicians. There will be performances of traditional music including lectures on ethnic instruments. The program will be open to the general public who will be given a chance to join in and play some of the instruments.

25th April 2009 Curator Walk
2:00pm onwards Exhibition curator Victoria Vorreiter will give a curator’s walk through the Songs of Memory exhibition. She will provide detailed information about the six different ethnic groups which are represented in the exhibit, their instruments and the costumes which relate to their culture.

17th May 2009 Workshop (for children and adults)
2:00 — 5:00pm. This program is designed to have participants create their own music instruments by using recycled and natural materials. Guests will also learn about musical rhythm and how to play the instruments they create.
Program will be lead by YimLamai Group.

JUNE:
19th June 2009 Digital short film and music video screening by young hill tribe curated by Jay Santiphap In-Kongam
7:00 pm. onwards This is a visual celebration of the younger generation of colorful hill tribe ethnic groups and their daily lives, permeating with their community identity, culture as well as admiration in contemporary world. The program includes curator talk.

JULY:
23rd July 2009 Lecture about her Research by Victoria Vorreiter
6:30 — 8:30 pm. Curator Victoria Vorreiter of the Songs of Memory exhibition will lecture on the fascinating experiences she has had while conducting research on instruments of the various hill tribe ethnic groups. This event is the last in the series of educational program and will be held on the closing day of the exhibition.
