Hatyai, Thailand: True Corporation Plc and Hatyai City Municipality joined hands to make Hatyai a major IT city in Thailand’s south with over 300 Wi-Fi by TrueMove hotspots being deployed across the city to provide online access for residents and tourists.
Pictured above are Mr. Prai Pattano, the Mayor of Hatyai City Municipality and Mr. Vichaow Rakphongphairoj, Managing Director, True Online of True Corporation Plc. signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) where True would provide wireless hi-speed Internet services to help make Hatyai a major IT city in Thailand’s southern region. Over 300 Wi-Fi spots by TrueMove will be installed across the city to accommodate Thai people as well as tourists who wish to stay connected to the Internet with access to news, information and entertainment anywhere and anytime.
In accordance with Hatyai City Municipality’s development plan to become an IT city, True is offering the Hatyai wifi service free to residents and tourists where 30,000 free Wi-Fi accounts will be given away (on a first-come-first-served basis) every 3 months until April 28, 2010 totaling 120,000 accounts altogether. Each account is entitled to receive up to 60 minutes free Wi-Fi access to the Internet via Wi-Fi by TrueMove hotspots across Hatyai at the speed of 512 Kbps over a 3-month period.
