Bangkok--12 Jun--124 Communications Thailand Management Association (TMA) together with Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University once again honor corporations with managerial excellence by presenting HRH Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s “Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards 2008”, and celebrate TMA’s 45th anniversary on Wednesday, 29 July 2009 at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel. Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards project was initiated in 2001 by Thailand Management Association and Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn Universiy to survey and gather comments from top executives in Thailand. The survey identifies organizations which excel in 8 categories to help various companies increase their efficiency in business management with the aid of benchmarking database. Mr. Preecha Chaochotechuang, Chairman, Thailand Management Association, stated that it is the greatest honor for TMA, Sasin and the award recipients to be granted “Thailand Corporate Excellence Award” from HRH Crown Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. This year, the Award Ceremony will be held in the evening of 29 July 2009 at Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel along with the celebration of TMA’s 45th anniversary on the same day. TMA and Sasin have commissioned MarketWise Ltd., a leading marketing research company, to survey and gather comments from top executives in the selection process. This helps us to learn the management perspectives of leading companies on their operations towards excellence. The information is also used as benchmarking database for various companies to help them increase their efficiency in business management. Assoc. Prof. Adith Cheosakul, Executive Director - Development, Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration, said “TMA and Sasin have joined forces for the project for eight years now to survey and select companies with outstanding managerial practices in order to help increase corporate standards in Thailand to be comparable to international level.” Ms. Daranee Charoen-Rajapark, Managing Director, MarketWise Ltd., remarked “Since the survey’s inception 8 years ago, executives this year have the most negative outlook on the business and economic situation in Thailand as a result of the global economic crisis and local political turmoil. To best weather the storm, executives have focused on reducing expenses, increasing efficiency, undertaking prudent investments and building on the company’s core competencies. Other than these basic initiatives, good corporate governance, effective financial management and strong vision are seen as the elements that can lead to corporate success in this type of economic situation.” Thailand Corporate Excellence Survey is conducted to uncover the viewpoints of Thailand's leading business executives from the top 1,000 revenue earning companies in Thailand from March-May 2009. The committee obtains the response of 412 top executives from the survey. There are a total of 14 organizations nominated for the award, and Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards 2009 identifies companies with excellence in the following categories. - Leadership Excellence - Product/Service Excellence - Marketing Excellence - Financial Management Excellence - Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence - Innovation Excellence - Human Resource Management Excellence - Corporate Improvement Excellence Enthusiasts and those who would like to apply for TMA membership, please contact www.tma.or.th or call 02 319 7675-8 during working hours.
