The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) joins with the Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Thai Industries, and Bankers Club of Nakorn Ratchasima to hold a big roadshow on saving and investment, “SET in the City at Nakorn Ratchasima”, on Saturday, June 20. This event, at Dusit Princess Korat Hotel, will promote knowledge to the region, leading with specialists to build confidence on the economy and provide advice on saving alternatives for Nakorn Ratchasima’s people and nearby provinces.
“SET will consistently hold activities to support investment in the region by disseminating knowledge to the general public in accordance with its plan to expand the investor base. SET will hold the roadshow in Nakorn Ratchasima as the first provincial event this year. This province has potential in both savings and investment, is it is the business center of the Northeast. As of end-March 2009, Nakorn Ratchsima had a saving base of THB78.82 billion — more than any other province in the Northeast, accounting for 22% of regional savings. Meanwhile, trading turnover during January-April 2009 was THB7.88 billion, or 29.12% of total trading turnover in the Northeast, or first in the Northeast as well. At present, there are seven securities companies in the province,” Chief Marketing Officer, Markets & Post-Trade Services Ms. Sopawadee Lertmanaschai noted.
At “SET in the City in Nakorn Ratchasima,” investors can receive advice from specialists in equity, derivatives, gold futures, or mutual funds investment all day, from over 20 companies. There will also be an introduction on 11 stock futures, which is a relatively new financial instrument used for managing risks from price volatility of stock. In addition, there will be insightful seminars, including “Economy, investment in Thailand, we still have hope,” “How to invest during times of low interest.” SET will also offer seminars for those interested in gold investment or gold shop owners, “Gold futures makes profits on gold prices,” and special talks for businessmen and those who interested in added more value to their business through fundraising.
Moreover, participants will be able to enjoy various activities, including “SET Click2Win 2009: Thailand Stock Simulation or online trading simulation game,” and may win prizes worth over THB one million. SET’s products and services will be presented via SET Easy Services, allowing investors to easily access information. The first 300 people participating in the seminars will win a set of free books on saving and investment worth THB120 and other souvenirs when making any financial transactions.
