Asia City Publishing Undergoes Major Revamp

ข่าวทั่วไป Wednesday July 1, 2009 09:45 —PRESS RELEASE LOCAL

Bangkok--1 Jul--Asia City Media Group Regional - In a major corporate revamp Asia City Publishing Group has changed its name and logo as well as its senior management structure. The company will now be known as Asia City Media Group (ACMG) and will be headed by co-founder Gretchen Worth (pictured) as CEO. "The new name better reflects how Asia City's offerings regionally have grown beyond our original city entertainment and visitor magazines into a wide range of digital products as well as marketing and communications services," Worth said. The senior staff has been realigned, with co-founder Steve Freeman taking on the role of chief operating officer and steering the Group's high-level sales efforts. Reporting to him are the regionally focused product directors Pat Chow (City Living), Greg Crandall (marketing & communications) and Celeste Tan (visitor publications). Co-founder Greg Duncan becomes group digital director and will lead ACMG's digital expansion along with product director Jane Bay (digital). Philip Wong continues as chief financial officer with Don Cheng as group financial controller. Joining ACMG in the newly created country manager roles are Andrew Taylor (Hong Kong and China) and Julius Toh (Singapore and Malaysia). Taylor was most recently Greater China country manager for the REA Group (a News Limited company) where he worked to expand Squarefoot Magazine, launch its online version and manage the lifestyle publication Inside DB. Toh joins from Emphasis Media Group, where he was group director of media sales acting as the global head of the media sales division. A Thailand country manager will be named shortly. ACMG's new logo was designed by Asia City Splash, ACMG's marketing and communications company. According to the group, it wanted a fresh logo that captured its reputation as a bold, independent voice in the market. "When we launched HK Magazine in 1991, we were known for our irreverent tone and style, which really stood out from the crowd," Worth said. "All these years later, in an exponentially larger crowd, we're still recognized as unique, whether it's our lifestyle content, our ability to deliver Asia's top demographic, or our client relationships that span the smallest classified advertiser to the largest MNC. With digital developments, we have an even greater opportunity to engage in more conversations with our readers, our clients, our business partners, and we wanted our logo to reflect that dialogue." The group launched HK Magazine in 1991 and in addition owns I-S Magazine, BK Magazine, WHERE and related digital products, as well as Asia City Splash, a marketing and communications company. ACMG operates in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai and Singapore. Tel. 02-624-9696 Wiwat Patcharinsak
