3,450 seniors subscribe BT2.4 billion government savings bond at TMB in less than an hour today

Bangkok--14 Jul--TMB Bank First customers arrived as early as 4.30 a.m. to avoid missing the chance TMB Bank Pcl announced today that the BT2.4 billion government savings bond available for subscription at TMB for the first day today was fully subscribed by 3,450 senior citizens. TMB is among the seven commercial banks the Ministry of Finance (MoF) assigned to distribute the BT50 billion government savings bond on July 13-14, July 15-16 and July 17, 20-21. The first period of subscription of July 13-14 was open for senior citizens aged from 60 years old. Mr. Boontuck Wungcharoen, CEO of TMB Bank said, “ We are pleased to announce that the subscription operation went well at all of our branches from 8.30 this morning and TMB staff were able to provide service to customers with ease thanks to good planning and rounds of rehearsal. Some of the customers arrived as early as 4.30 a.m. to start queuing up and out staff were available to serve them.“ Mr. Boontuck added that TMB has strictly followed the MoF’s guidelines to ensure transparency in the subscription process and that individual walk-in customers have a fair chance to subscribe the bond. In addition, the Bank has prohibited employees of vice president level and higher from subscribing the bond at TMB. Other employees who wish to subscribe the bond have been advised to adhere to the subscription rules applied to all customers. The second period of booking which will be open to members of the public who have Thai citizenship and charitable organizations registered in Thailand has been set for July 15-16. A total value of BT1.15 billion government savings bond will be available at TMB during the period.
