Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jai Krishnan Govindan as their new Executive Chef. Jai, as he is lovingly called, will be responsible for all culinary operations of this award winning resort well known for its impeccable service standards.
India born Jai is no stranger to Thailand and Bangkok, having foreseen the culinary operations in the year 2002 as Executive Sous Chef for the then newly rebranded InterContinental Bangkok and Holiday Inn Bangkok.
In his 18 years culinary journey, having associated with the Hyatt, Oberoi and InterContinental group, Chef Jai have had the privilege of working in some of the most well known hotel addresses in Asia including a stint in Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore and of course his home town in India. A classic exponent of authentic natural cuisine, Chef Jai has always believed in upholding the true nature of ethnic cuisine by developing local talent and emphasizing local ingredients. His mantra is “Top quality ingredients enhanced by simple cooking”.
With many culinary awards under its belt, Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa and Chef Jai seem to be headed for a home run in a country which is renowned for its impeccable cuisine and courteous service standards.
