A.D. Time (Malaysia) expands its distribution network into Thailand’s watch market, importing 11 watch brands and investing more than 1 million baht on its first shop “MAD TIMING”, at MBK Center, 7th floor with plans to open a string of shops catering to students, white collar workers from middle to high executives covering a wide market range. A.D. Time with its head office in Malaysia and is the biggest fashion watch importer in Malaysia. The Company’s mission is to expand the business into many countries such as Singapore, Brunei, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. The office branch in Thailand opened in May 2009.
The formal public opening of A.D. Time (Thailand) will take place at the “Siam Paragon World Watch & Jewelry 2009”, the biggest innovative watch festival in Asia, held from 30th July-16th August at Royal Paragon Hall. The event is the largest encompassing 200 world class watch brands for watch enthusiasts in Thailand to review before others.
Mr. Sand Vongthongmark, Marketing Manager A.D. Time (Thailand) Co., Ltd. added that since the watch market is a highly competitive market, the Company’s strategy is to cater to a wide range of consumers from students, university students, white collar workers and middle to high executives, stringently selecting brands and products that are suitable for different ages and genders. Prices start from 1,850 to 48,999 baht.
Market players employ marketing tactics to compete over the look of the watch, with the same group of clients who already have brand loyalty. Currently, there are strong competitions over the price and marketing strategy. AD Time has therefore strategies to join forces with Thai leading department stores such as The Mall, Robinson, Isetan and the Flagship store Loft@Siam Discovery to open its watch outlets. The Company has plans to invest more than 10 million baht to open a string of shops in many leading department stores such as MBK Center, Future Park Rangsit, Esplanade, Central Plaza, and in leading theatre cinemas such as SF Cinema, Major Cineplex. These concept stores will be named “MAD TIMING” abbreviated from My A.D. Time, selling 11 watch brands. The first shop will be open in August at MBK Center, 7th floor followed by another shop at the Esplanade Rattanathibeth scheduled for September 2009.
Mr. Sand also revealed that even though there has been political and economic uncertainty together with other uncontrollable factors, he believes that in the last quarter of 2009, there will be continuous growth, resulting from the Company’s stimulus plan in pricing strategy implemented for 2009 to 2010 , as well as the introduction of more brands in the future for optimum growth. more brands being imported.
