The 1st Asian Martial Arts Media Centre Launched

Bangkok--3 Aug--Sports Authority of Thailand International Broadcasting Centre and Main Press centre of the 1st Asian Martial Arts Games have been officially opened at the 300-bed accommodation athletes building at Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) yesterday. Presided over the opening ceremony by Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) Governor Kanokphand Chulakasem as the chairman of technical committee of the Games, the ceremony also gathered representatives of committee from each department. Kanokpand is pleased to welcome and offer all press members convenience during the Games. “We are delighted to give our support to the International Broadcasting Centre (IBC) and also Main Press Center (MPC) as both are important for the Games. It will publicise the competition through TV, internet and newspapers,” said Kanokphand. “Both centres will be centre of the information for pictures and sound as well as creating the good image of the country through different sources of media. As for the International Broadcasting Centre, it was reported that the competition from all venues including opening and closing ceremony will be aired through Outside Broadcast (OB) unit from seven television stations with the standard of world-class sports broadcasting. “Staff, who work at the centre, also came from all television stations. TOT Plc also assigned their working personnel to support networking picture signal from all venues through the Fiber Optic Cable prior to transmitting it back to the IBC. During the Games, the National Broadcasting Service of Thailand will produce TV programme for live broadcast on NBT and T-Sports Channel. Additionally, the IBC and MPC are the place where both local and international media and photographers will be working during the Games,” he added. Besides the Main Press Center at Bangkok, there are another three Sub Press Center at Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japan), Nimibutr Gymnasium and Suphan Buri province. These centers will provide media useful information related to the games, as well as serving as media workplace where they can search information and send press release via the internet. Moreover, the martial arts games committees have established the Information Center to provide all related information through Call Center 1141 extension number 2222.
