FedEx Announces Thai Finalist Teams for FedEx/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge in Singapore

Bangkok--4 Aug--Aziam Burson-Marsteller FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company and Junior Achievement Thailand today announced the three Thai finalist teams for the “FedEx/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge” to be held in Singapore early in August. The competition was open to all current secondary students, aged 15-18 who were required to submit a ‘market entry strategy’ for a new product of their own design, detailing their marketing, promotion, pricing, inventory and international product distribution plans. The three winning teams were chosen for their understanding of the significance of market research, creativity, planning, and entrepreneurial skills in entering new markets. The judging panel included Mr. David Carden, managing director, FedEx Express, Thailand and Indochina, Ms. Nancy Keel, director of operations, Junior Achievement Asia-Pacific, and Mr. Brian Housh, Managing Director, English Solutions. Commenting on the caliber of the entries of this year’s team’s, Mr. David Carden, said, “This year’s finalists presented some excellent and well thought out strategies. This is the first year Thailand is participating in the FedEx Express/Junior Achievement Regional International Trade Challenge. Apart from Thailand, the other competing countries in the International Trade Challenge are Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Australia.
