Despite the fall in the second half of the year, AP Honda continues to boost the market with its two campaigns; “Easy Pay, Enjoy Ride With Aeon” and “Click Offers More”.
The latest report reveals a fall in the over all bike market in July, arise from the rainy season. There were 138,898 new bikes being registered in July which fell by 13 per cent, compare to the same period from last year. The sales in July also fell by eight per cent from June, which was a new height in 10-month time. Apart from the two campaigns, Honda plans to release more campaigns to cater the lifestyles of all customers in the second half of the year.
“The over all bike market has fought with the sluggish economy and uncertain politics since the beginning of the year. However, the fight could only slow down the plunge of the sales. The number of 882,122 bikes being registered during the past seven months made the over all sales shrank by 15 per cent. However, the market expects to recover in the second half of the year, thanks to a better political situation. As the market recovers, manufacturers are releasing more campaigns to boost the market which is a good sign,” says Teerapat Chivapong, sales director of AP Honda.
Honda has released two smart campaigns; “Easy Pay, Easy Ride With Aeon” and “Click Offers More” to be alternatives for customers in the hard time. Previously, campaigns and promotions were constantly released “C’mon Let’s Have Fun” campaign including “Super Match Thailand National VS Liverpool FC” and “Honda Click i Reggae on the Rock” attracting a hundred thousands of Honda fans and walk in participants. The gigantic campaigns have guaranteed the customer base. Sales in the third quarter tend to grow, pushing manufacturers to release more campaigns in the second half of the year.
In the beginning of the second half of the year, the Automatic Transmission model became a hit in July. The number of new registrations in July consists of 66,802 for Automatic Transmission bikes or 48 per cent; 66,646 for family bikes or 48 per cent. However, the family bike model is still the most popular among the customers, with 435,321 units sold in the first seven months.ซึ่งยังคงแสดงให้เห็นถึงความนิยมต่อเนื่องมาอย่างยาวนาน
The number of registrations in the first half of the year consists of 441,405 for Automatic Transmission bikes or 47 per cent; 21,674 for family/sports bikes or 2 per cent; 6,684 for sports bikes and 7,038 for the other or 1 per cent in each category.
Of all registered bikes in the market, Honda has 582,443 units or 66 per cent; Yamaha has 245,872 units or 28 per cent; Suzuki has 38,076 units or 4 per cent; Kawasaki has 7,935 units or 1 per cent; JRD has 863 units; Platinum has 600 units; Tiger has 473 units; and 5,860 units for others.
