SAMITIVEJ SRINAKARIN EVOLVES AS A “TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL”

Bangkok--21 Aug--SAMITIVEJ SRINAKARIN Bt200 million spent on new facilities to become Bangkok’s emergency care center; state-of-the-art rehabilitation center opened Advancing on its “Journey of Care” commitment, Samitivej Srinakarin invested more than Bt200 million in its medical capacity improvement with an aim to become a complete “tertiary-care hospital” which can provide effective and efficient treatment to patients suffering from complicated diseases and illness. Under the plan, a new state-of-the-art rehabilitation center is built, which will become one of Asia’s leading rehabilitation centers. Dr. Dhun Damrongsak, Director of Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, said, “We are ready in all areas to become a complete “tertiary-care hospital”. We have a good pool of medical specialists and staff, equipment and technology, and strategic location which is easily accessible by the main roads that link Bangkok of the Eastern coast as well as Suvarnabhumi Airport. “We are more than ready to become a medical hub with an extensive expertise in various fields, not only children treatment for which we have long been recognized. Strong support from the other hospitals under Samitivej’s umbrella also helps strengthen our position and ability to take care of particular illnesses that need specialists’ care.” In upgrading its patient care capability, Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital has invested approximately Bt200 million in acquiring the latest medical equipment and technologies. Some of the new technologies and equipment are the latest CT Scan and MRI equipment for faster and more accurate diagnosis; microscopy for microscopic surgery; Picture Archiving and Communication System for convenient connection and transfer of X-Ray information in various format between hospitals within the group such as digital ultrasound, mammogram and endoscope for convenient referral and telemedicine. Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital also built a new Cath Lab which is now open 24 hours. Realizing that rehabilitation is as important as treatment, the hospital has invested in a Bt40 million rehabilitation center, which is Thailand’s biggest and most advanced center. This rehabilitation center will play its vital role in helping patients who have successfully survived trauma to recover and regain strength and physical ability. The fully-equipped rehabilitation center comprises individual treatment rooms for individual treatment, a hydrotherapy pool, temperature control pool and walking treadmill, and children’s concentration training room equipped with Smoezelen Technique and robot-loko motive. New technology which helps analyze muscles and neuro system capability is acquired to help therapists provide the most suitable rehabilitation program for each person. To support increasing foreign patients, Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital has opened a new International Ward on 14th floor. “By increasing our patient care capability, we are becoming a complete tertiary-care hospital.
