Bangkok--25 Aug--SET
The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) accepted derivative warrants (DW) using KBANK PCL as its underlying asset for trading starting August 27, 2009. The DW, issued by KGI (Thailand) Securities PCL, will use KBAN13CA as its trading symbol, Chief Marketing Officer, Markets & Post-Trade Services Sopawadee Lertmanaschai revealed.
KBAN13CA is a call warrant of KBANK PCL with approximately six-month maturity, ending in February 2010. An investor holding four units of KBAN13CA will have the right to buy one share of KBANK. If the investor holds DW until maturity and exercises that right, KGI will make a cash settlement based on the share price of KBANK and the exercise prices, without stock delivery. KGI will be the market maker for KBAN13CA to ensure trading liquidity.
KBAN13CA is the second series of DWs to list on SET, following PTT13CA, which was listed and traded in July 2009. KGI had an initial public offering (IPO) of KBAN13CA during August 10-21, 2009. This IPO received great attention from investors, with total sales of THB58.77 million (approx. USD1.72 milion), or 22.60 million units.
“Even though KBAN13CA was issued by KGI, the same issuer as PTT13CA, details and conditions of the two securities are different. Investors should study the conditions governing the rights of KBAN13CA holders before deciding on an investment. After KBAN13CA has started trading, SET will provide information on the market maker performance and outstanding units of DWs to help provide timely, complete, and accurate information for investors,” added Ms. Sopawadee.
Conditions for exercising KBAN13CA rights are on SEC website, www.sec.or.th. Visit www.set.or.th for basic knowledge about DWs and KBAN13CA trading information, or call S-E-T Call Center at 0 2229 2222 or KGI Securities (Thailand) PCL at 0 2658-8921 to 8926 for more information.
