The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has joined hands with the College of Music, Mahidol University to support Thai youth musicians aged under 25 to show their talents at the 13th SETTRADE Youth Music Competition of Thailand, to be held this year.
The SETTRADE Youth Music Competition of Thailand is to promote and develop Thai youth’s music talents to a higher level and support Thai youth’s music expression, revealed Chief Financial Officer & Corporate Services Ms. Chanisa Chutipat.
“Many of the hundreds of SETTRADE Youth Music Competition of Thailand applicants each year succeeded and later entered the professional stage, both domestically and overseas. The contest allows youth to express their talents appropriately, provides an opportunity to youth to practice their skills and increases the number of country’s music talent youth to create their reputation on an international stage,” said Ms. Chanisa.
“The SETTRADE Youth Music Competition of Thailand is a challenging stage for youth, since it is the one and only wide-open contest, providing opportunity to contestants to express their talents all the way from northeastern-style music instruments to classical music. The judgment criterion will be that of melodious sound. This year’s total prizes are worth over THB600,000 (approx. USD17,640). The gold medal winner will receive a scholarship from the College of Music, Mahidol University for one year,” revealed Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, as the contest’s chairman, Assoc. Prof. Sugree Charoensook.
Any student wishing to participate in the competition can send a tape or CD with his/her live, unadjusted music and/or voices, using either Thai or international unplugged music instruments, according to the candidate’s expertise, along with the application to the College of Music, Mahidol University, 25/25 Phutthamonthon Sai 4 Road, Salaya, Phutthamonthon, Nakhonpathom, 73170 from now until October 30, 2009.
