Moroccan cuisine is a very diverse cuisine with influences from many cultures that have been a part of Moroccan history. Moroccan cuisine is well known for its spices and succulent flavors, which holds some similarity to the Thai cuisine. Casablanca Restaurant would like to introduce to you “Tagine and Couscous: Dishes from Morocco” for the month of September’s promotion.
Menu selections are the Sweet Potato Pastillas which is a spiced sweet potato pie, served with arugula salad and lemon vinaigrette or try the Pigeon Pastillas, which is a traditional Moroccan pie stuffed with roasted pigeon, walnuts, almonds, and Moroccan spices. Other dishes worth mentioning are the Couscous Tefaya, a sweet couscous with raisins, onions, and braised chicken in 7 spices scented broth and the Snapper Tagine, an oven baked fish tagine in spicy tomato-olive broth, served with pita bread. Another interesting dish is the Beef Tagine, which is a braised beef dish, with saffron scented rice and stuffed artichoke hearts served with Moroccan bread. To top off this delicious meal, try the Apricot Almond Layer Cake, a crisp almond macaroon, layered with apricot compote and mascarpone cream or Dates with Coffee and Cardomom, which are dates marinated in cardamom infused espresso syrup, served with Greek yoghurt.
