TMB Bank Pcl, today reported 1,253 applicants showing intention to join the voluntary early retirement programme that the bank introduced to qualified employees last month. Successful applicants will be informed individually by 25 September 2009. The programme is part of TMB’s efforts to build a customer-centric organization that enables the bank to better serve customers.
TMB Bank Executive Vice President for Human Resources Mr. Thawatchai Techawatanawana said, "TMB has set aside around Bht 850 million for the programme since the fourth quarter of 2008 and the Bank's Board of Directors have additionally approved Bht 300 million to ensure that the programme be well executed."
The voluntary early retirement programme provides opportunities for long-service employees who may not be entirely comfortable with the bank’s new work environment and customer-centric philosophy to take early retirement with a generous bonus as well as career and outplacement support. Employees aged 40 and above with at least10 years of service are eligible for consideration in the voluntary early retirement program.
